This is an amazing betting weekend. A weekend of derbies. But it takes just one look at the daily schedule to understand that all those amazing matches are on Sunday. The most important match today is by far Atalanta vs Napoli. Both when it comes to the importance of the game itself and for betting purposes. So I will also mostly focus on this match. But apart from my Atalanta vs Napoli betting tips, I got English Premier League fans covered as well, with a pick from the Nottingham Forest vs Brentford game, over at City Ground.
Take a look at the Serie A table. Undefeated Napoli are first, followed by Atalanta, who have only lost once. As a matter of fact, Napoli have trailed on the scoreboard for only 46 minutes so far this season, and Atalanta for just 84. This Atalanta vs Napoli match is way more important than the team names might imply.
But there is a major difference. Atalanta looks shabby at times. It makes you wonder how they have gathered 27 league points. The most impressive is that the team performs way better away from Bergamo. In fact, 5 of Atalanta’s 8 wins have come in away games. When playing in front of their fans they are 3-2-1.
In the meantime, Napoli are impressive in any way imaginable. Yes, their 13-game winning streak was ended in Liverpool, but this meant literally nothing, as the Partenopei won their Champions League group. There are two important absences that certainly bother Luciano Spalleti, namely Rahmani and Kvaratskhelia. Nicknamed “Kvaradona”, the Georgian winger is by far Serie A’s MVP so far and were he available, my task would be way easier.
That being said, I will back the better team here, arguably the most impressive team in all of Europe so far. Napoli have done it before. They won against Milan, against Lazio, and against Roma away. Why not do it again?
Atalanta vs Napoli pick: Napoli to win @2.25
I will be honest here. I expected Forest to be Premier League’s pleasant surprise. Spoiler alert: they aren’t. After yet another tough loss, to high-flying Arsenal, Forest has to win this one. And it is their biggest chance, since Brentford will be without their best player, Ivan Toney, who is suspended.
Brentford is not in the best shape in the last month, even when Toney is there. And they haven’t won away from home for six months.
Nottingham Forest vs Brentford pick: Nottingham Forest to win @2.05
