Barcelona and Arsenal fight for Joao Cancelo
Arsenal took a step further into the Joao Cancelo transfer saga, being in direct contact with his agent. The Gunners never said no to another ex-Man City as they seem more than happy with the additions of Gabriel Jesus and Olexandr Zinchenko. There would be minor concerns at the Etihad, regarding the improvement that the City gave to the North London side, competing with the Citizens for the Premier League title.

But Pep Guardiola gave the “green light” to all the major candidates as he doesn’t want Cancelo to be part of the next season’s project. The Portuguese defender returned to Manchester after an unsuccessful 6-month loan spell at Bayern Munich, where Thomas Tuchel decided not to trigger the buyout clause which reached over 60 million pounds. During his time in Bavaria, Cancelo made 11 appearances, scoring once and providing 4 assists to his teammates.

Knowing that Man City will not discuss for less than 43 million pounds will only make the task harder for a club that prefers to move in the free transfer market.
Arsenal’s odds at 2/1 look more than promising, now that both sides began to discuss a possible deal. Real Madrid may be at 5/1, but during Joselu’s announcement, Florentino Perez stated that there will be no further transfers for the Merengues.
