Two out of the three Champions League finals will be recreated in this season’s Round of 16. Liverpool vs Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain vs Bayern were two of the eight pairs drawn. So at least two of the five favourites for the title (at least up until the draw), will be kicked out of the competition before the quarter-finals.
All seeded teams (the ones that won their Groups) will play the first leg away and the second at home. The first legs will be played on 14, 15, 21 and 22 February, and the second legs will be played on 7, 8, 14 and 15 March 2023.

Paris Saint-Germain vs Bayern
City are the clear favourites to win this one, on the top sites that offer a betting welcome bonus. The English Champions are offered at 1.15 to qualify to the quarter-finals. RB Leipzig are valued at 5.50. The two clubs have only met once in the past. It was a year ago, in the Champions League group stage. They split wins, with City winning 6-3 in England and Leipzig winning 2-1 in Germany.
Benfica were seen as the weakest of the seeded teams. Brugge were seen as the weakest of the unseeded teams. The drawer had them match. The Portuguese giants are favoured at 1.25. Club Brugge are offered at 3.50. The two teams have never met before.
Last year’s final is replayed. Liverpool are the favourites to qualify from the Champions League Round of 16, offered at 1.75. The reigning European Champions, Real Madrid’s odds stand at 2.10. The two clubs have met nine times in competitive action. The Spanish side have posted five wins, compared to Liverpool’s three. There was one match ending in a draw. Gody Gakpo’s arrival would be a plus for the “Reds”.
Spurs are the bookmakers’ favourites to qualify from the Champions League Round of 16. The Londoners are at 1.80. Milan’s odds are at 2.00. The two teams have faced each other four times. Spurs have won two and there have also been two draws.
Napoli, arguably Europe’s hottest team right now, reached the Round of 16 in the Champions League with ease. Now they are favoured to win versus Eintracht Frankfurt. The Italians are at 1.45, compared to Frankfurt’s 2.75. The two clubs met in 1995, for the UEFA Cup. Frankfurt won both contests with the same score (1-0). Napoli’s recent not-so-great performances made the odds gap closer.
Chelsea have the edge to qualify to the quarter-finals, despite their recent struggles in England. The Blues are offered at 1.55. The odds for Borussia Dortmund’s qualification are at 2.45. It is the first time those two will face each other for any European competition.
Inter are the only unseeded team to be a favourite to qualify from the Champions League Round of 16, offered at 1.60. Porto are at 2.35. Inter and Porto have been drawn together twice in the past. Inter won two of their ties, Porto won one, and one ended in a draw.
PSG and Bayern met in the Champions League final in 2020. In general, they have played against each other 11 times, without ever recording a single draw. PSG have 6 wins and Bayern 5. As for the odds to qualify, Bayern are offered at 1.80 and PSG at 2.00.
After the Champions League Round of 16 draw, City solidified their position as the big favourites to win it all in Istanbul at the end of the season. The Citizens are offered at 2.75, followed by Bayern (8.00), and PSG (8.00), which share third place. Liverpool, Napoli and Real Madrid have equal possibilities (12.00), while Chelsea (15.00) also feature in the top half of the odds table.
