Europa League Predictions: Don’t lose faith in anyone

Last Thursday the teams which participate in the Europa League and Europa Conference League proved once more that they all want one thing: to reach the further stages and add one more accomplishment to their history. In today’s predictions, I will keep my focus on the battles of the second-tier competition, which are full of goals and emotions.

Real Betis vs Manchester United Prediction

Real Betis will host Manchester United in a chance to bounce back and fight to overturn the negative result at Old Trafford last week. This 4-1 loss was something that came as a natural consequence of the team’s poor performance away, but also Manchester United’s need to win big in the aftermath of the 7-0 crush at Liverpool. Despite finding a goal before halftime, Betis conceded three times in the second half as Pellegrini and his players seemed out of their comfort zone.

In today’s encounter, I believe that the Spanish team will not quit trying to score as much as possible. This will make them vulnerable at the back, meaning that players such as Rashford and Anthony will have their chances. A both teams to score option is ideal, being added to over 2,5 goals scored.

Fenerbahce vs Sevilla Prediction

Sevilla won 2-0 in the first leg of the Europa League last 16 round, proving once more that this competition fits much in this club, despite its recent poor performances in La Liga. I focus on that, because Sevilla was not the best team in the field, as Fenerbahce tried to hijack the match more than once. The visitors were better and they always transform in a better way at home.

Sevilla will not be able to defend adequately if Fenerbahce gains momentum in the game. I don’t know who will qualify in the next round, but tonight is all about the hosts.

Union Saint Gilloise vs Union Berlin Prediction

Those two gave the fans everything to cheer about in their last matchup. Despite two poor performances in the group stage, the two Unions ended the first leg in a 3-3 draw. The Belgian second sitters took the lead three times, but the Germans equalised on all of those occasions. No one won but they had their chances. Scoring three times against Union Berlin is not a small accomplishment.

They both know how to find the net and at this point of the season, defence is not the primary goal neither in their respective leagues nor in European competitions. The first leg was a mirror of what will happen again tonight. I expect them to score in a game that will have three goals minimum.
